Higgins, a French-born marketing leader with 15 years of experience, has lived in Sydney for a decade. Her extensive background spans luxury hospitality, major events, and destination marketing, making her a valuable addition to the team as the hotel prepares for its launch.
She previously led the marketing and communications strategy for Sofitel Sydney Wentworth during its $77 million transformation, playing a key role in its relaunch. Higgins also contributed to the launch of the ATP Cup in Sydney with Tennis Australia, showcasing her ability to manage high-profile projects. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles in destination strategy within the public sector and led national marketing and product strategy for Société Générale’s partnership with Universal Music in France. Higgins expressed her passion for bringing brands and places to life through culture, partnerships, and memorable experiences.
Holiday Inn Warwick Farm Welcomes New General Manager
David Janz has been appointed General Manager of Holiday Inn Warwick Farm. Janz relocates from Holiday Inn Frankfurt – Alte Oper, where he served as General Manager for two years, bringing international leadership experience to his new role. Prior to this, he held significant positions at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay, including Executive Assistant Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing, demonstrating his versatility in hotel operations and strategic planning.
Pier One Sydney Harbour Appoints Chef de Cuisine
Adrian Widders joins Pier One Sydney Harbour as Chef de Cuisine of Pier Bar and Dining, bringing a wealth of international and local experience to the role. His culinary journey began at Kingsleys Steakhouse in Woolloomooloo, where he completed his apprenticeship, and continued with six years at Banjo Paterson Cottage Restaurant in Gladesville, rising to Junior Sous Chef. Widders then moved to London, where he honed his skills across acclaimed wine bars, luxury restaurant groups, and exclusive private members’ clubs, gaining valuable international exposure.
Returning to Sydney in 2020, Adrian continued to deepen his expertise in luxury hotel dining, holding the role of Sous Chef at The Langham Sydney and contributing to the opening team at Capella Sydney. His approach to cuisine is rooted in simplicity and quality, emphasizing “honest food” made with exceptional produce and minimal overhandling. At Pier One, he will lead the culinary vision, introducing a fresh, Mediterranean-inspired dining experience that aligns with the venue’s approachable yet sophisticated ethos.
Naumi Hotels Expands Leadership Team
Akash Sood has been appointed Area General Manager for Naumi Hotels in New Zealand, expanding his responsibilities to oversee five properties across Auckland, Wellington, and Queenstown. Sood joined Naumi earlier this year as General Manager of Naumi Hotel Auckland Airport and brings nearly three decades of hospitality experience to his new role. His portfolio now includes Naumi Hotel Wellington, Naumi Studio Wellington, The Central Hotel Queenstown, A Naumi Chapter, and The Dairy Hotel Queenstown, A Naumi Chapter.
Shue Sng joins as General Manager of Naumi Hotel Singapore, the group’s flagship property, bringing 20 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region. Sng’s expertise spans sales, commercial leadership, and hotel operations, with a focus on team development and delivering exceptional guest experiences. In her new role, she will oversee the hotel’s operations and performance, ensuring it remains a leader in personalized and design-focused hospitality.
