EVT Hotels and Resorts has announced its lifestyle-budget brand LyLo will open in Bangkok in 2028, marking the brand’s first international launch outside Australia and New Zealand. The 387-bed property, located in Sukhumvit Soi 15, aligns with EVT’s strategy of expanding through asset-light management agreements rather than direct ownership.
The move follows EVT’s 2024 opening of QT Singapore and the recent signing of Rydges Bangkok, also set for 2028. CEO Jane Hastings called the LyLo Bangkok project a key step in the company’s Southeast Asia growth plan, reinforcing its regional presence alongside its QT and Rydges brands. “Over the past five years we’ve built the LyLo concept, drawing on expertise from across EVT, and proven it as an award-winning brand. We have a platform to support expansion through asset-light management agreements, with Bangkok marking the first step in that journey,” Hastings said.
The Bangkok property will feature 354 signature pods and 33 private rooms, along with shared spaces including a rooftop wellness area, pool, and bar. The design targets budget-conscious travelers seeking a stylish, private stay at an accessible price point. The development partners, Hospitality Capital Advisers, Capstone Asset, and Silver Bullet, are acting on behalf of the Boontanonda Family, Matalay, and KS Hotels.
LyLo’s existing portfolio includes four properties in Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown, and Brisbane, with a flagship Gold Coast location opening next year. The brand’s focus on high-volume, style-driven travelers aligns with Bangkok’s status as one of the world’s most visited cities. The project reflects EVT’s broader shift toward regional expansion, with plans to establish a Bangkok office led by Executive Vice President Harry Thaliwal.
