Hand Picked Hotels has purchased four luxury properties in the Cotswolds from Andrew Brownsword Hotels, strengthening its presence in a region renowned for its historic appeal and elite hospitality sector. The acquisition covers Buckland Manor, The Slaughters Country Inn, The Slaughters Manor House, and Old Swan & Minster Mill, adding a total of 118 guest rooms to the brand’s portfolio.
This marks the company’s first foray into the Cotswolds, a destination celebrated for its timeless architecture and refined service standards. All four establishments will retain their existing names and operational identities, ensuring continuity for visitors. The decision reflects the brand’s commitment to preserving heritage while delivering contemporary comforts, as stated by Julia Hands, the group’s chair.

Financial and legal advisors for Hand Picked Hotels included Deloitte, Michels & Taylor, and Withers, while Andrew Brownsword Hotels collaborated with Savills and Burgess Salmon. Both parties stressed that the transition would prioritize staff retention and operational consistency, with no compromise on the properties’ established service levels.
